The hike up to Brennmonuten is not particularly long but can be characterized as quite steep. You start at Seljordsvatnet, specifically from Brennmo, and follow the old road upwards. Follow the road all the way to the end, and be aware that it may be a bit overgrown in some places. You will now arrive at Østerdalskjønni. Here, follow the path further to the right, which will lead you into Oredalen. Further on, you will come to a cairn, and here you leave the path and continue up the slope to the right. Proceed all the way to the top of the hill where you will once again find a trail. From there, it's straight ahead through the cut and onwards to the cliffs at the top. Then, just enjoy the stunning view over Seljordsvatnet.

Up to the American plane on Skorve, you have a nice but slightly steep hike of 3.4 km each way. The plane is located just below Gøysen, which is the peak of Skorve mountain. From Garvikstrondi Camping, drive towards Seljord. Take a right onto E134. At the gas station, take a left onto Ingrid Sletten's road. Turn left past Seljord Hotel and follow Brøløsvegen for about 400 meters. Take a right onto Gullnesvegen, and follow it to Kivledalsvegen, which you'll find on the right side after about 5 km. Continue driving until you reach the parking lot.

IMPORTANT: There is a toll road, so it's wise to bring small change.

The plane crash at Skorve in 1944 (Liberator) was one of two aircraft accidents that occurred at the Skorve mountain in Seljord municipality, Telemark during World War II. Late in the evening on September 9, 1944, an American Consolidated B-24 Liberator bomber crashed near the summit of Skorve (1370 meters above sea level). The aircraft was en route to the Hønefoss area to drop supplies to the Norwegian resistance movement. The mission was part of an Allied operation known as the "Ball Project," led by Colonel Bernt Balchen. At the time of the accident, the aircraft was flying at an altitude of approximately 1300 meters. This is lower than many of the peaks in Southern Norway, something the crew was aware of having flown several missions in the area before. The reason for flying at such a low altitude is not fully clarified.

If you choose this hike, be prepared for a steep and demanding trek. From Flatsjå, there's a trail leading up to a tractor road. The road is steep but good, and it takes you all the way to the top. Here, you'll reach Århusnut, which is located at 685 meters above sea level. Further on, you have two options: continue on the road or choose a shorter path on the left side. This path leads to Bakre nut at 790 meters above sea level. From here, you can admire a fantastic view of Lifjell, Skorve, and Seljordsvatnet. If you're still motivated, you can continue up to Strondfjelle, which is a bit further up.

If you're looking for a shorter hike but still want beautiful surroundings and a good view of Seljordsvatnet, this is definitely a winner. As this is part of the southern trails of the "Rundløype" in Bjørgelia, you have two possible starting points. The first, from the intersection near Seljord Camping, is a bit steeper at the beginning and may feel a bit challenging. If you choose the second option, starting in the opposite direction from Bjørge besøksgård, it's an easier alternative with less elevation gain.

Seljord Hage is a garden located in the center of Seljord, open to the town's residents and guests. It is accessible to all, including wheelchair users, and is designed to bring joy and inspiration. The garden showcases creative, sustainable, and aesthetic solutions where both utility and ornamental plants are equally important. It serves as a meeting place and a sanctuary for those who enter it, offering a space for relaxation and reflection. The hope is that it becomes an arena for interaction between different generations and cultures, where knowledge can be exchanged, meaningful conversations can take place, and new friendships can be formed. Within the garden, you'll find a school garden where students from 1st grade to high school can cultivate and harvest, a demonstration garden showcasing important principles of organic farming, a community garden where you can rent a plot of approximately 25 m2, and an ornamental garden currently under development. Additionally, there's an old apple orchard, tables for gathering, and a fire pit for cooking.
